Don’t Take It Personal
Matthew 10:19-22 But when they deliver
you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given
you in that same hour what ye shall speak. (20) For it is not ye that
speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you. (21) And the
brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child:
and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be
put to death. (22) And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but
he that endureth to the end shall be saved. (KJV)
As enjoyable as it is to let the Spirit
speak through you and deliver a message of love that brings life to those
around you, that same Spirit can have another effect on the people as well,
one that is not as enjoyable to deal with. Just because you are hated
doesn’t mean you did something wrong, but rather you took a stand for
something that is right, which keeps you in right standing with the Father.
Keep this fact in mind also, that as long as you let the Spirit of your
Father speak through you the more confidence and trust it builds. After
all, if you are speaking His words then come the day of judgment you can’t
go wrong, because by those words you will be justified. Keep in mind to,
that it is not you that people hate but rather it is their hatred for God
that is being carried out on His messengers, something they will have to
give an account of personally some day.
1 Peter 3:14-17 But and if ye suffer for
righteousness' sake, happy are ye: and be not afraid of their terror,
neither be troubled; (15) But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be
ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the
hope that is in you with meekness and fear: (16) Having a good conscience;
that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed
that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. (17) For it is
better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for
evil doing. (KJV)
Again take notice of the fact that when
giving the response of the Holy Spirit, letting the Spirit of your Father
speak through you, it is not always going to be well received. In fact the
Lord is asking you to be ready to give that answer, or I should say His
answer always, even if it is in a hostile environment. All those that
choose to live godly in Christ Jesus will, not might, suffer persecution;
so don’t think it strange concerning the fiery trial when it happens, just
know it happened for the right reason.
Jeremiah 1:6-9 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD!
behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child. (7) But the LORD said unto me,
Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and
whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak. (8) Be not afraid of their
faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD. (9) Then the
LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me,
Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth. (KJV)
You know, if our Lord had a job resume
for those that He desired to use to speak on His behalf, it would be just
the opposite of what man would be looking for. In fact the Lord said He
chose the foolish things, including foolish people of this world to use and
speak on His behalf. The Lord is not looking for someone who is fluid in
speech, or someone with much intelligence, but rather someone with a
willing heart, willing to speak in love and allow the Spirit of their
Father to speak through them. Don’t be concerned by the reaction of others,
or how they view you, but rather deliver the message, one that is of God,
and let the Spirit have its way by staying out of the way. Being the fact
that it is the Lord’s ministry, we the clay and He the potter, then let Him
have His way, and don’t try to sugar coat the message either to appease the
people, that won’t work.
Isaiah 30:9-11 That this is a rebellious
people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: (10)
Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us
right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: (11) Get you
out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to
cease from before us. (KJV)
You know, some of these so called fast
growing ministries in reality are nothing more than a bunch of ear tickling
people pleasing phonies. People who rather than lay down their lives for
the brethren by speaking what the brethren need to hear and not what they
want to hear will find out in the end that people pleasing is a quick ticket
to hell. We are either with God or against Him; so if it is not the Spirit
of our Father speaking through you then there is only one left and that is
the spirit of antichrist, the father of lies.
Ephesians 4:14-16 That we henceforth be
no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of
doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie
in wait to deceive; (15) But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into
him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: (16) From whom the whole
body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint
supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part,
maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. (KJV)
God so loved the world that He gave us
His only Son, someone that would bring His plan of salvation and
reconciliation to a fallen world. By speaking the truth, you are
demonstrating the love of God despite how it is received or rejected. It is
by delivering the message of love, by the truth that sets people free, is
what will give them the tools to be effectual so that they can carry out
the work the Lord would have them do in their place in the body.
John 10:30-33 I and my Father are one. (31)
Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him. (32) Jesus answered them,
Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works
do ye stone me? (33) The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we
stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man,
makest thyself God. (KJV)
This man Jesus of Nazareth never said that
he was God, but rather made the statement that He and the Father are one,
likeminded and of one accord, in agreement would be another way of putting
it. We have the mind of Christ, and we to should be one with God, in
agreement with Him, and walking in the Spirit speaking words that are Spirit
and life as well. It’s not like Our Lord Himself was well treated, despite
the fact that the words He spoke were those of His Father, letting His Spirit
speak through Him. He didn’t take it personal what they did to Him, and
neither should you when speaking the truth in love as well.
