Diagnosis Life
John 10:9-10 I am the door: by me if any
man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
(10) The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I
am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more
abundantly. (KJV)
Our Father in heaven has an open door
policy, desiring that none of us should perish but that we all come to a
working knowledge of who we are in Christ, and all the Spiritual blessings
we have been blessed with in His realm. But do beware, there is a spiritual
thief that will do all he can to distract you from entering into this realm
and ceasing from your own works. When looking at verse 10, we see the word ‘might’
mentioned twice when pertaining to the word ‘life’; a new life each and
every believer should be partaking of. Ever hear the term “get a life”? Well,
the Lord provided us access to a new life which is only found in Christ,
the question is, how many people are taking possession of all that He has
available for His people? Again, when I see the phrase ‘might have life’
does that mean it is a hit or miss deal, like throwing dice?
John 3:14-18 And as Moses lifted up the
serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: (15) That
whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. (16) For
God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (17) For God
sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world
through him might be saved. (18) He that believeth on him is not condemned:
but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not
believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (KJV)
Many times I have heard verse 16 quoted,
and at times misquoted also. The other day while listening to a radio
program the preacher used the term ‘would not perish’ instead of ‘should
not’. I think of our Lord as the great physician, which is also one of the
definitions for salvation, health. Our Lord came and gave us the diagnosis
for what was ailing mankind and keeping them spiritually bedridden, that
being sin. Having paid the price for us so that the fellowship between us
and God could be restored, He is now seated at the right hand of the Father
ready, willing, and able to mediate His plan to us personally on a daily
basis so that we could walk in this new way of life provided for us. Keep
in mind though, our Lord has done His part of the bargain and provided a
way of escape, now it is up to us to take His Spiritual medicine even
though at times it can be hard to swallow. So just like with a doctor, once
they have prescribed the correct diagnosis, it is then up to the patient to
follow his instructions.
Romans 6:3-6 Know ye not, that so many of
us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? (4) Therefore
we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was
raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should
walk in newness of life. (5) For if we have been planted together in the
likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his
resurrection: (6) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him,
that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not
serve sin. (KJV)
The whole idea with a patient coming to
the doctor is to get them back on their feet again and moving forward in
their calling. As we see, the Lord instructs us on what we should be doing
in order to partake of this new life available in Christ, but He doesn’t
say that He is going to hold you down and force feed it to you. I think of
chemotherapy when I see the term ‘baptism’ because in order for you to live
in the realm of the Spirit something has to die. The more you immerse
yourself in living waters the more it will cut off and drown the old man,
and allow you to walk in the new life our Lord intended for us to partake
of. One way or the other the body of sin will be destroyed, and hopefully
you won’t be hanging onto it when it is, because for many they will find
out to late that they allowed the spiritual cancer of sin to take them down
and choke the Spiritual new life out of them.
Ephesians 3:17-20 That Christ may dwell
in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, (18) May
be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and
depth, and height; (19) And to know the love of Christ, which passeth
knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. (20) Now
unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or
think, according to the power that worketh in us, (KJV)
God is able, the question is, how many
will enter into His realm and partake of the new life available in Christ?
Again we see terms like ‘might’ or ‘may be able’; however, unlike a casino
which is based on chance, all the promises of God are a sure thing to those
that believe and are willing to walk in the realm of the Spirit, no longer
being influenced by the things of this lower one. Are you sure of who you
are in Christ today, walking in the abundance of this new life available
right now, or are you hoping that someday it might happen?
Hebrews 10:38-39 Now the just shall live
by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him (39)
But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that
believe to the saving of the soul. (KJV)
Right now, today, the simple spiritual
diagnosis is to live by faith, and don’t draw back to sin, which in its
simplest form is unbelief. Putting your hand to the Lord’s plow and then
looking back is not going to work either, so get rid of the rear view
mirrors. The Lord has provided a simple diagnosis for life so that we could
eliminate the, should a, could a, and would a’s, and walk in the abundant
life that is available right now, today for all that believe.
Hosea 4:6 My people are destroyed for
lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject
thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the
law of thy God, I will also forget thy children. (KJV)
You don’t see the phrase ‘might’ or ‘should’
in the above verse. In conclusion today, the Lord is saying that if you
don’t take your medicine from above then you open yourself up to all the
curses from below in this fallen realm. Remember, “He that is his own
doctor has a fool for a patient”.
