Bound For Glory
Matthew 18:18-20 Verily I say unto you,
Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever
ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. (19) Again I say unto
you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that
they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
(20) For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in
the midst of them. (KJV)
Those of you that are bound for glory, and
that being the glory of God and His eternal reward, have found that the
only liberty is in Christ. The Lord promised that He would never leave us nor
forsake us, but on the flip side there is no guarantee that we would not leave
nor forsake Him; in fact we all do at times when we fall into sin. Keep in
mind that the Lord said He would be in the midst of us, which now that we
no longer know Him after the flesh then that would mean that Spiritually He
abides with us. Also keep in mind, the fact that if we desire to abide with
Him then that too would have to be Spiritually and according to truth.
Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, except
they be agreed? (KJV)
Now while many people look at the
scriptures and hold to the literal meaning, Spiritually we need to realize
that the first person we need to come into agreement with is God and His Word.
It is by coming into agreement with God and His plan of salvation is what
will set us free and allow us to walk the path of life He ordained for us
before the foundation of the world. However, if we don’t come into
agreement with His Word then we bind Him from working on our behalf, and
words that should have been Spirit and life are replaced with doubt and
fear, loosing the enemy and allowing him to influence you to walk a
different route, which is a dead end.
Romans 8:14-17 For as many as are led by
the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (15) For ye have not received
the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of
adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. (16) The Spirit itself beareth
witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: (17) And if
children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be
that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. (KJV)
Who is really leading and guiding you
this day; is it truly the Spirit of God or have you accepted a spirit of
bondage, one that keeps you from accessing His kingdom? The first thing we
need to seek, the first person we need to seek approval from is God, so
that we can operate in His righteousness and stay in good standing with
Him. The Spirit bears witness to us, and renews and reminds us of the
freedom and liberty we have in Christ, a freedom from doubt and fear,
especially in this unstable realm we have all around us. How can you ever
walk with the Lord consistently unless you stay in agreement with Him, you
know, that term walking by faith and not by sight? What happens is that many
bind the Lord from working on their behalf, because while the Lord is
pointing them in one direction they choose to follow their outward vision
and hold more to popular opinions and doctrines of man. So who are you in
agreement with today, and are you holding God true to His word, not being
entangled and bound up again with a yoke of bondage?
Ephesians 2:13-14 But now in Christ Jesus
ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. (14) For
he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle
wall of partition between us; (KJV)
Mankind was separated from God by sin, which
kept us on the outside instead of the inside. Now for those that are in
agreement with His plan of salvation, they are able to draw near to God
through His Son, letting His peace be that bond which makes us one. Kind of
like watching a show where someone goes to visit a person in jail, they are
separated by a wall. However, once one comes into agreement and is willing
to walk with the Lord then they realize that the middle wall has been
broken down between them. Whenever we allow the cares of this life to enter
in again, then we begin to build a wall between us and God, keeping Him
separate from our lives.
Ephesians 2:15-18 Having abolished in his
flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for
to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; (16) And that he
might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the
enmity thereby: (17) And came and preached peace to you which were afar
off, and to them that were nigh. (18) For through him we both have access
by one Spirit unto the Father. (KJV)
You know, it is the Lord’s desire to make
a new man out of you as well, that being Christ in you, your only hope of
glory. Our carnal minds, our way of thinking, is enmity with God; so the
more we can remove ourselves from the equation the more of an influence He
can have as well. God made that same Jesus that man crucified, both Lord
and Christ, who is seated at His right hand so that He can preach His
message of peace to any and all that are willing to hear. It is only
through this one new man that we can become a new creation as well, walking
in His wisdom and knowledge and no longer limited to ours.
Galatians 5:1-4 Stand fast therefore in
the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again
with the yoke of bondage. (2) Behold, I Paul say unto you, that if ye be
circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing. (3) For I testify again to
every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law. (4)
Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by
the law; ye are fallen from grace. (KJV)
What or should I ask, who are you coming
into agreement with today? If it is the Son of God then there will be
peace, however, if one tries to appease people then they will fall from
grace. No matter how the works of the law manifest, anything that is not of
faith is sin, and won’t work. Your true liberty, your only freedom will be
found in Christ, and only with those that are truly members of His body of
believers, who are bound and determined to hold to His doctrine.
John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make
you free, ye shall be free indeed. (KJV)
Has the Son set you free, and are you
allowing His Word and influence to have free reign with you this day? If
any man be in Christ, it is then that he is that new creation and old
things are passed away, which is not based on our works but on something
that really does work, and that being the completed work the Lord has done
on our behalf. Are you bound for glory? Then stand fast in the liberty that
is only available in Christ, and don’t let the enemy put a yoke of bondage
back around your neck.
