School’s Out Forever
Galatians 3:23-26 But before faith came,
we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards
be revealed. (24) Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto
Christ, that we might be justified by faith. (25) But after that faith is
come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. (26) For ye are all the
children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. (KJV)
Strong’s definition for ‘schoolmaster’:
3807
paidagogos (pahee-dag-o-gos');from 3816 and a reduplicated form of
71; a boy-leader, i.e. a servant whose office it was to take the children
to school; (by implication [figuratively] a tutor
["paedagogue"]):
You know, it is expected that once you
come to the Lord and experience His love and plan of salvation that you
grow and mature in His realm and not stay complacent, or even regress.
Growing up in the realm of the flesh and being indoctrinated with religious
doctrines which included rituals, whether in the form of baptisms or
communion; all of which kept me bound in the realm of the flesh and never
brought life to my spirit. What many fail to realize is that these outward
rituals which were of the old law (a law that our Lord fulfilled on our
behalf) had a spiritual meaning to them. In other words, what we saw taking
place in the outward realm is now something that should be taking place in
the Spiritual realm, which is why many miss the true meaning of the Word
today.
Hebrews 6:1-3 Therefore leaving the
principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not
laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith
toward God, (2) Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and
of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. (3) And this will we
do, if God permit. (KJV)
Please take note of the fact that we
should be leaving these first principles behind us if one truly desires to
grow and mature in Christ. The things we see our Lord doing in the gospels,
things that took place in the outward are not something that we need to be
imitating, but rather allowing it to take place in the inward. You know,
even though you started out in kindergarten there came a time and point
where it was needful to move on and mature, not drag around a sippy cup and
coloring books to college. Baptisms, circumcisions, all these things which
were of the old law are now something that should be taking place in the
Spirit and not in the flesh if you are truly seeking right standing and
justification with the Lord.
Hebrews 6:4-6 For it is impossible for
those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and
were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, (5) And have tasted the good word of
God, and the powers of the world to come, (6) If they shall fall away, to
renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son
of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. (KJV)
Would you hire somebody to work for you
that had a preschool mentality? Why, because it would be impossible for
them to function correctly in the place you need them to work, because
eventually their limited knowledge will fall short of your expectations.
Without faith it is impossible to please God, thus why we see the word ‘impossible’
in verse 4. When I see organizations that still hold to the old law and its
rituals, I see people that are stuck in the fallen realm of the flesh,
where it is impossible to please God let alone think that they will be used
by Him. Let me make this point also, it’s not a matter of if they will fall
away, but for those that stay stuck in this fleshly realm they shall fall
away because of their limited carnal knowledge, which actually does more
harm than good. Remember, the people that crucified the Lord and put Him to
an open shame thought they were doing a good work also.
Galatians 2:16-18 Knowing that a man is
not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ,
even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the
faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the
law shall no flesh be justified. (17) But if, while we seek to be justified
by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the
minister of sin? God forbid. (18) For if I build again the things which I
destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. (KJV)
Why O Why would you try to build a
foundation on something that is dead, died, and done away with, that being
the works of the old law? Because by those works is the knowledge of sin,
not a realm our Lord operates in. Many, and I do mean many, of God’s people
begin their walk in the Spirit and then fall away thinking they can perfect
it in the flesh by the works of the law, which places them in transgression
and not justification.
Galatians 2:19-21 For I through the law
am dead to the law, that I might live unto God. (20) I am crucified with
Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the
life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God,
who loved me, and gave himself for me. (21) I do not frustrate the grace of
God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. (KJV)
Get out of the old people, move on, grow
up into Christ and don’t be like children tossed back and forth with winds
of doctrines by people that try to tell you salvation is based on some work,
or the law, and not faith. You know, our Lord was crucified once; He
doesn’t enjoy seeing His doctrine crucified over and over again and being
put to an open shame. School’s out people, and has been for over two
thousand years; time for God’s people to graduate from the carnal realm and
into the Spiritual realm.
