The Walk Of Life
Hebrews 4:9-11 There remaineth therefore
a rest to the people of God. (10) For he that is entered into his rest, he
also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. (11) Let us
labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same
example of unbelief. (KJV)
The children of Israel were used as an
example of unbelief so that we could learn from their mistakes. God had a
plan, a purpose, and a way of escape from Egypt to the promised land.
However, along the way many fell away because of unbelief, thinking that they
knew better than God Himself.
Ephesians 1:10-12 That in the
dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all
things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in
him: (11) In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated
according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of
his own will: (12) That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first
trusted in Christ. (KJV)
We have been talking all this week about
entering into the Lord’s rest and ceasing from our own works. We see that
our Lord has a predestinated plan or a path for us to walk, which simply
put, is totally contrary to that of the flesh and our limited outward
vision. Whatever your plan or purpose was in life before Christ needs to be
discarded and let go, so that you can put your first trust and faith in
Him, and now walk according to His will.
Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is
impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he
is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (KJV)
Without hearing from our Lord on a daily
basis how would you ever know what His plan and purpose is for your walk?
Many people hear the Lord and walk with Him for a season, but end up
distracted and fall away because they decided to walk by their outward
vision, which in reality is blinding. The more you hear the Lord and make
Him a priority in your life the more you will experience what a real reward
is, that being the Spiritual blessings and not just the short lived carnal
things that many are settling for.
John 11:25-27 Jesus said unto her, I am
the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were
dead, yet shall he live: (26) And whosoever liveth and believeth in me
shall never die. Believest thou this? (27) She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I
believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into
the world. (KJV)
You need to know Christ for yourself
because He is the only way to the Father. We were all dead in sins and
trespasses before we were given access to this new life by His sacrifice.
We now have access to the author and finisher of our faith, so that we can
know personally and experience the peace of God that is a confirmation of
the fact that we are walking the path of life that was ordained for us to
walk in before the foundation of the world.
Ephesians 1:5 Having predestinated us
unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the
good pleasure of his will, (KJV)
So what is the true walk of life? How
about entering into the Lord’s rest and ceasing from your own works so that
someone else can take over in your life with something that really does
work.
John 6:27-29 Labour not for the meat
which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life,
which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father
sealed. (28) Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work
the works of God? (29) Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work
of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. (KJV)
Believe it, because it really is that
simple. God bless and keep doing what really works.
