Rooting For The Home Team
1 Timothy 6:9-11 But they that will be
rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful
lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. (10) For the love of
money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have
erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (11)
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness,
godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. (KJV)
You know, when you joined the Lord’s team
your goal is to make it home to your eternal destination. Just like those
that attend sporting events, their desire is to see their team make it to
the goal line. Teams are identified by uniforms which clearly tell you what
team they are playing on. Spiritually, it is up to you to know which team
is of God and which is of the enemy so that you don’t end up rooting for
the wrong team.
2 Peter 2:1-3 But there were false
prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among
you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord
that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. (2) And many
shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth
shall be evil spoken of. (3) And through covetousness shall they with
feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time
lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not. (KJV)
The enemy these days has many of God’s
people rooting for the wrong team. Instead of coming out and being separate
from these false doctrines, many are embracing this get rich quick
mentality as being the real deal. Let me offer you this clue that will help
you identify the enemies uniform, when you see many involved and it has to
do more with carnal things than Spiritual, that would tell you that it is
not really of God, would it not? God considers His people more than just
some cheap merchandise, and come the day of judgment many are going to find
out the hard way that they were cheering on and for the wrong team.
James 2:5-6 Hearken, my beloved brethren,
Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the
kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him? (6) But ye have
despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the
judgment seats? (KJV)
Why are so many promoting a doctrine that
our Lord said is not of Him, which in His Word it clearly spells this out
throughout the Bible? You have your choice, to be rich in faith, or to chase
and be deceived by the riches of this life; but you cannot incorporate both
because that will make you unstable and unable to receive the things of
God.
1 Timothy 6:3-5 If any man teach
otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord
Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; (4) He
is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words,
whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, (5) Perverse
disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing
that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. (KJV)
You know, when you see or hear this junk that
is being promoted it is up to you whether you will give it a standing
ovation, or head for the exits; it is that simple, because your Bible is
specific to point out that no man can serve two masters.
Isaiah 33:15-16 He that walketh
righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of
oppressions, that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes, that stoppeth
his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil; (16)
He shall dwell on high: his place of defence shall be the munitions of
rocks: bread shall be given him; his waters shall be sure. (KJV)
Which team are you rooting for? Because
in the end, only one wins, and only one makes it home.
