Going Deep
John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I
have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit,
and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the
Father in my name, he may give it you. (KJV)
When the term going deep is used in a
football game it means that the receiver is headed toward the goal seeking
to cross the goal line. God is like our coach, and sent His Son to planet
earth to show us how we can go deeper into His realm by letting go of the
things of this one. So in essence, each day that we seek first the kingdom
of God and His righteousness, we are like a player on the field looking to
our Spiritual coach who is calling the play from above so that we can go
downfield and make some progress in our walk.
Luke 6:47-48 Whosoever cometh to me, and
heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: (48)
He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the
foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently
upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. (KJV)
Ever hear of a broken play in football? That
is where there is some miscommunication, and the opposing team has a free
shot at the quarterback. Unless one goes and gets the right play by hearing
clearly what is being sent, then they will not be able to do and carry out
the plan that would get them to their goal. Just like a foundation for a
building, unless you dig deep and get founded on a rock it will not stand
but eventually it will be blown over and thrown for a loss.
1 Corinthians 2:9-11 But as it is
written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the
heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. (10)
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth
all things, yea, the deep things of God. (11) For what man knoweth the
things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things
of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. (KJV)
You know these people that keep preaching
and teaching about the riches of this world, and how important they think
they are? Yeah not much depth there, because they have limited their love
and affection to the things of this outward life rather than the new inward
realm our Lord would have them to operate in. Do you really desire to go
deep into the things of our Lord? Then the only way that can be
accomplished is through His Spirit. So when mankind promises you liberty,
you know, like the more you give the more you get, that would be a good
time to get out of there because it is getting deep, and not something that
you would desire to be in without hip boots.
John 14:26-27 But the Comforter, which is
the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you
all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have
said unto you. (27) Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not
as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled,
neither let it be afraid. (KJV)
The more you allow the Holy Spirit to
bear witness to your spirit, the more you will hold to the things of God
and let His peace rule in your walk. Despite a troubled and chaotic world
we live in and are surrounded with, you can truly go deep into the realm of
the Spirit, deep enough so that you will not be afraid or troubled by the
outward.
