Stop The Insanity
Proverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the LORD with all
thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (6) In all thy ways
acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (7) Be not wise in thine
own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. (KJV)
The Bible encourages us to depart from
evil, not to embrace it or to think evil in any way, shape, or form. No
matter how many disguises you put on carnal things, anything that draws us
away from the Lord and not closer to Him is evil; something that needs to
be put away so that you won’t end up put away and separated for eternity.
1 Timothy 6:9-11 But they that will be
rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful
lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. (10) For the love of
money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have
erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. (11)
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness,
godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. (KJV)
Look around at this fallen world that we
are surrounded with and one is able to easily identify the root of all the
evil that has taken hold of man, and like a millstone tied around their
necks it is drowning them in destruction and perdition. So with that in
mind Church, what is more insane than thinking that we can carry this same
mindset over from the world into the Lord’s realm and make any progress? It’s
just not happening, never will, was never meant to; and yet with this in
mind why do so many of God’s people still pursue things that our Lord says
to leave behind and depart from?
Proverbs 3:13-15 Happy is the man that
findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding. (14) For the merchandise
of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than
fine gold. (15) She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou
canst desire are not to be compared unto her. (KJV)
When the Word of God and knowing Him
personally becomes your first and only priority in this life that is when
you will stop the insanity, and grow up and mature in the realm of the
Spirit the way our Lord intended for you to grow in. If anything else has
more of a hold on your life and affection then you will not be departing
from evil but rather trying to embrace it, which is, yeah, a bit insane.
Psalms 119:127-128 Therefore I love thy
commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold. (128) Therefore I esteem all
thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.
(KJV)
If something is false and misleading it
is something that should be left behind us Church; and not trying to drag it
around with us. Running this race in the Spirit is one of endurance,
because starting out is one thing, but only those who make it to the end
will truly be saved.
