Pep Rallies
2 Timothy 4:3-5 For the time will come
when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall
they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; (4) And they shall
turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (5) But
watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist,
make full proof of thy ministry. (KJV)
While watching a so called man of God
give his speech concerning some big event that was going to take place, it
reminded me of the pep rallies that many schools have prior to a big game, doing
or saying things to stir up the emotions. While listening to the message it
reminded me of the hundreds of other similar messages of how God’s people
were going to take back the nation, and some big revival is going to take
place. Well, this message just happened to be a taped message, and this
event was supposed to take place on the seventh of July, of 2007. I
personally believe that the messenger had a few too many seven and sevens
before getting up on the stage; and rather than preach sound doctrine he
played on the emotions of the people instead of speaking the truth in love.
Just for the record, I am convinced that the time has already arrived that
the majority would rather have their ears tickled than the Spirit fed.
Isaiah 30:9-11 That this is a rebellious
people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: (10)
Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us
right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: (11) Get you
out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to
cease from before us. (KJV)
Church, as we get closer to the end, the Bible
is consistent in warning God’s people that things are only going to get
worse and worse. While some talk of a big revival, things will not be set
straight until the Lord Himself returns and sets them straight. Mankind has
spiraled out of control; because rather than give ear to the Spirit they
have fallen for the lies that appeal to the lower fallen nature, instead of
rising up and partaking of the divine one. So, before you grab your pom-pom’s
and go jumping for joy it would do you good to see what the Spirit has to
say and not those lying ones that many are falling for.
Jeremiah 5:25-27 Your iniquities have
turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from
you. (26) For among my people are found wicked men: they lay wait, as he
that setteth snares; they set a trap, they catch men. (27) As a cage is
full of birds, so are their houses full of deceit: therefore they are
become great, and waxen rich. (KJV)
Church, didn’t the Lord Himself warn us
about the many (‘many’ is the word that He used) and not a few false
prophets that would arise and deceive many?
Jeremiah 5:28-31 They are waxen fat, they
shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they judge not the
cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the right of the
needy do they not judge. (29) Shall I not visit for these things? saith the
LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as this? (30) A
wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; (31) The prophets
prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people
love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof? (KJV)
If one does not take a stand for the Lord
and operate in the power of His might, they will fall for any cheap hoax
and lie of the wicked one and all those that speak on his behalf. What will
take place as we near the end? Well, according to the Word it’s only going
to get worse and worse.
