Enter Life Maimed
John 15:2 Every branch in me that beareth
not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth
it, that it may bring forth more fruit. (KJV)
That new life you committed to God, yeah
basically it is one of retraining, one of where you have to let go of the
old in order to partake of the new. You were born again, reborn into a
realm that is totally opposite and contrary to the one that you had been
indoctrinated with up to this time. In order to stay in this new realm,
healthy and in good terms with our Lord you will experience at times
pruning, weeding things out that are taking away from this new life rather
than being a positive influence in it.
Matthew 18:7-9 Woe unto the world because
of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man
by whom the offence cometh! (8) Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend
thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter
into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be
cast into everlasting fire. (9) And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out,
and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one
eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. (KJV)
Thayer’s definition for ‘maimed’:
2948
kullos-
1) crooked
a) used of the
members of the body
b) injured,
disabled
2) maimed, mutilated
One of the biggest offences and stumbling
blocks that the enemy will throw at you is those that are of the world and
hold to its fallen way of thinking. Even those that you have been close to
and attached with will need to be cut off and removed so that the influence
of the world will not distract you from your new life in Christ. Hey, the
Lord didn’t say it was going to be an easy path, but it is the only one
that leads to eternal life people, and we only get one shot at it, so use
it wisely. Talk about entering life maimed; just think about how our own
Lord departed from this world in order to inherit the eternal life.
Galatians 5:24-25 And they that are
Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. (25) If we
live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. (KJV)
Spiritually this new life we committed to
is one of denial, because in order to live in this realm one has to die.
Those that are dying to this life will resurrect and partake of the new
life in Christ, but only if they are willing to enter it maimed.
2 Corinthians 5:7 (For we walk by faith,
not by sight:) (KJV)
A life in the past dictated by our
outward vision will no longer work, but rather will bring division if not
dealt with. A total retraining process began the moment you accepted the
Lord into your life, and in order to find the path of life you will need to
pluck out your own eyes or vision, in the spiritual sense, in order to see
it. A Spiritual path is located in a Spiritual realm, a path not heavily
traveled.
Proverbs 3:5-7 Trust in the LORD with all
thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (6) In all thy ways
acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. (7) Be not wise in thine
own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. (KJV)
When one is leaning, I see someone that
is about to fall if they lean too far. Like it or not this new life
requires a new way of thinking, a new vision and a new way of walking if
one is going to endure to the end and enter into the Lord’s rest for the
rest of eternity.
