Ask What You Will
John 15:7-8 If ye abide in me, and my
words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto
you. (8) Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall
ye be my disciples. (KJV)
Prayer is a two way street so to speak. You
make your requests known to God and then you expect His results; God in
turn is speaking to you as well and you respond to His requests also. The
problem for many is that they are not sure that their prayers are getting
answered because their response to God hasn’t been as diligent as He responded
to them. The more you know that you are doing the will of God from the
heart, the more you know that He answers your prayers as well.
1 John 2:27-28 But the anointing which ye
have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach
you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth,
and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. (28) And
now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have
confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. (KJV)
Strong’s definition for ‘abide’:
3306
meno (men'-o); a primary verb; to stay (in a given place, state,
relation or expectancy): KJV-- abide, continue, dwell, endure, be present,
remain, stand, tarry (for), X thine own.
The more you allow this truth to abide in
you, well basically, the more you will abide in the realm of the Spirit.
Some day when you will have to stand before the Lord and give account of
your life you won’t have anything to be ashamed of, because today, right
now, you are letting His Spirit have a greater influence in your life than
anything or anyone of this fallen world.
John 14:15-17 If ye love me, keep my
commandments. (16) And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you
another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; (17) Even the
Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not,
neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall
be in you. (KJV)
There is no excuse for you not to abide
in this love and make it to your eternal destination in Heaven, which is
the whole reason our Lord died for us. God has done His part and provided
His Spirit; the One that He promised would never leave us nor forsake us.
However, many have forsaken the Lord and have fallen for cheap knock off
imitations of what man calls blessings, and not the Spiritual blessings we
have access to this day.
John 12:45-46 And he that seeth me seeth
him that sent me. (46) I am come a light into the world, that whosoever
believeth on me should not abide in darkness. (KJV)
Once you have seen the light it is vital that
you stay in that light and no longer abide in the darkness of this fallen
world.
1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence
that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he
heareth us: (15) And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know
that we have the petitions that we desired of him. (KJV)
The more you abide in the realm of the
Spirit the more confident you become in your prayers. You know the Lord
hears you because you hear the Lord, and are willing to respond to His
requests as well. So abide in Him and ask what you will, and know that you
have the petitions that you desired.
