A Wise Choice
Proverbs 3:7-8 Be not wise in thine own
eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil. (8) It shall be health to thy
navel, and marrow to thy bones. (KJV)
You know, in order for one to be healthy they
need to make some wise decisions in order the get and stay healthy. One of
the first things that you will learn in your walk with the Lord is that
everything you have been taught in the past, everything that you thought
you knew, will now need to be discarded and exchanged for a new wisdom that
is from above if you are going to make it to your eternal destination in
Christ.
Proverbs 26:11-12 As a dog returneth to
his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly. (12) Seest thou a man wise in
his own conceit? there is more hope of a fool than of him. (KJV)
If your life was so good before then, why
did you bother looking for something better in the first place? With that
thought in mind, why do we keep looking and leaning to our own
understanding thinking that it will bring us closer to the Lord. Especially
when the opposite is true; the more you learn of the Lord the more you
realize just how foolish your own thoughts really are compared to the Lord’s.
After all, you’re dealing with a God that always was and always will be;
where we on the other hand, have only been around for a brief short time,
and yet we think that we know better than God.
Matthew 18:9 And if thine eye offend
thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter
into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell
fire. (KJV)
What happens when you go to get your eyes
checked and one of them is not functioning? The vision gets blurry and you
can’t see or discern what is in front of you? Well, this is what is called
double vision; which in the Lord’s realm will lead to double minded,
someone who is unstable and unable to receive and understand the things of
God and His realm. As painful as it would be to pluck one of our eyes out
in the physical and learn to see with one eye, it can be a pain at times Spiritually
as well to shut or pluck out our old way of seeing and learn to walk a new
path of faith.
Ephesians 4:17-18 This I say therefore,
and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles
walk, in the vanity of their mind, (18) Having the understanding darkened,
being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them,
because of the blindness of their heart: (KJV)
It wasn’t your carnal thinking or ways
that got you into the kingdom of God and in good standing with Him; and it
is that same carnal thinking that can keep you separated and in darkness
until you are ready, willing, and able to let go of your ways and let
someone else show you the way. Your vision is one that should be coming
from the heart and not your head if you are going to head in the right
direction.
Ephesians 1:17-18 That the God of our
Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of
wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: (18) The eyes of your
understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his
calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
(KJV)
There is a wisdom that is from above, and
only this wisdom will allow you to escape the darkness which is below. The
more you operate in this wisdom which is Spiritual, the more you will know
what the hope of His calling is for your life. Now, get out of the old, and
go out and let the Lord show you His wise choice for your life this day.
