Who Cares?
1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves therefore
under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: (7) Casting
all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (KJV)
Who cares; well according to the Word,
God does, or I should say is willing to do the caring for you, on your
behalf; now the question becomes, who will allow Him? When you think of
humility, spiritually the most effective way to humble yourself is to cast
all, not just some of your cares and concerns on the Lord, and then walk
away leaving it in His able hands. Have you ever seen the good hands
commercial where they portray their customers in good hands because of
their coverage? Now just think how much more the Lord can do on our behalf
if we allow patience to have its perfect work, so that we are not lacking
in any area of our walk, spirit, soul, and body. Today, stop and do a
personal inventory if you would, and really ask the Lord if you are still
carrying around some dead weight, things that you said you cast in His
direction in prayer only to take them back and try to re-examine the
situation according to your carnal senses.
Psalms 55:22-23 Cast thy burden upon the
LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be
moved. (23) But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of
destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days;
but I will trust in thee. (KJV)
So what happens when one truly casts
their burden upon the Lord and leaves the outcome with Him? Well, it keeps
you in good standing with Him, and you are not moved away from the hope of
the gospel chasing some cheap mirage of the enemy, or trying to find your
own solution to your situation. Despite the fact that we are surrounded by
an evil fallen world, and as we look around today we see an economy that
man has created falling apart and crumbling because of their greed, our God
continues to supply all our need according to His everlasting unending
riches which are in Christ. You know, the more you give ear to the truth
and the good news of the gospel, the less likely you will be pulled down
and influenced by the old news of the world.
Luke 12:29-32 And seek not ye what ye
shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. (30) For
all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father
knoweth that ye have need of these things. (31) But rather seek ye the
kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. (32) Fear
not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the
kingdom. (KJV)
Thayer’s definition for ‘doubtful’:

meteorizo- by a metaphor taken from ships that are tossed about on
the deep by winds and waves
1) to cause one
to waver or fluctuate in the mind
2) to agitate or
harass with cares
3) to make
anxious
As we see in the verse above that there
is some movement, fluctuating taking place, and the movement is not on
God’s end is it? Keep in mind that we serve a God who cannot lie; so, if we
are encouraged to fear not, then it is obvious our Lord has things covered
and will not fail His end of the bargain. So rather than playing hopscotch
with the Lord, stepping in and out of His realm to find peace, why not take
a seat with our Lord on a daily basis and eliminate all these unnecessary
fears and doubts that you claimed you gave to the Lord. After all, the Lord
said He would be doing the caring for you, and in all actuality the truth
be known, He provided a path and a way of escape from this present evil
world before the foundation of it; now, do you know of someone more
qualified to take the reins? In fact our Lord was able to draw up a plan
for your life long before you were around to try and analyze and make changes
you thought were needed.
1 John 4:17-18 Herein is our love made
perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he
is, so are we in this world. (18) There is no fear in love; but perfect
love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not
made perfect in love. (KJV)
Williams New Testament translation
1John 4:17-18
17. Our love attains perfection through
our having perfect confidence about the day of judgment, because here in
this world we are living as He did. 18. There is no fear in love, and
perfect love drives out fear, because fear pertains to punishment, and no
one who is subject to fear has attained perfection in love.
Thayer’s definition for ‘boldness’:

parrhesia-
1) freedom in
speaking, unreservedness in speech
2) free and
fearless confidence, cheerful courage, boldness, assurance
You can cast out all those fears and
cares, things that the enemy has been packing in your backpack, and replace
them with boldness, confidence and assurance that you are on the path of
life today knowing that God does supply all the need for His people. Who
cares? My prayer today is, hopefully not you.
