The Young And The Restless

Isaiah 40:28-31 Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. (29) He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. (30) Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: (31) But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (KJV)

Ever see the daytime soap operas where they write the scripts that keep the people coming up short, looking for answers that somehow keep eluding them. Wasn’t that your life before the Lord; the devil kept you running in circles looking for an answer in this carnal realm that was never there, even though at times it seemed so close, yet in the end it only brought more heart ache and misery? Well, one of the attributes of our new life in Christ, one of the things that you will learn is that you no longer have to chase after things or answers, but now you learn to wait on the Lord and allow it to manifest. Your new nature is one of patience, something we don’t see much of anymore, but something so vital if one desires to stay in good standing with the Lord.

James 1:2-4 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; (3) Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. (4) But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. (KJV)

As you continue your walk in the Spirit you will learn to walk in a deeper realm with the Lord, one which definitely includes patience. The enemy will do all that he can to try to influence you to look for an alternative answer, one you can see right now. The trial of your faith is when you hold your ground, and not make a move until you know it is of God. This is what letting or allowing patience to have its perfect mature work will accomplish; a complete answer that will leave you lacking in nothing, but will provide abundance to the need if you wait on it. This is where many fall short, and where we all sin and fall short; is because of our unbelief, still holding more to the outward rather than relying on the inward peace to prevail in all our decisions.

Romans 5:1-5 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: (2) By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. (3) And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; (4) And patience, experience; and experience, hope: (5) And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. (KJV)

Of course the enemy is going to try to get you distracted; like with a race he will try to get you to jump the gun and be disqualified. The question now becomes will you hold fast your profession of faith without wavering, without running ahead and chasing after an imagination? The tribulation you are experiencing is a result of you holding fast; waiting and renewing your mind so that answer the Lord intended for you can manifest. However, if you are off and running, being led by the flesh and not by the Holy Ghost, then you will miss out on what the Lord had intended for you, and you end up advancing to the rear again.

Romans 8:24-26 For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? (25) But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. (26) Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. (KJV)

The Spirit is willing, it’s our flesh and its carnal thinking that gets in the way and causes the distraction. The Spirit is speaking; are you listening and giving ear to the realm of the unseen, or are you still looking in the outward, thinking that it will bring peace? You wonder why you are restless at times? It’s because of our lack of faith instead of entering into the Lord’s rest and ceasing from our own works. Instead of taking the time to hear all the counsel of the Lord we just hear bits and pieces, things we wanted to hear and not what we needed to hear. Kind of like with children at a cafeteria, they take the stuff that tastes good and leave the healthy stuff behind, and then wonder why they get weak and sick. The Spirit is there to help us overcome the infirmities of our lower nature so that we can learn to let patience have its perfect work, lacking or coming behind in nothing the Lord has for us this day.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. (17) For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; (18) While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. (KJV)

Have you ever seen an eagle fluttering in the wind or struggling to fly in a storm? Actually when the winds pick up they rise above the storms and kind of glide along until it subsides. Your outward old man and its way of thinking should be perishing daily so that you can learn to trust and rely more on an inward vision, one that sees where the true victory is. So today, are you waiting and relying on the Lord for the only answer that will bring peace, or are you running to and fro looking for an answer in a realm it doesn’t exist? Don’t be worn out like many of the young and the restless, but be renewed in the Spirit your mind and let patience have its perfect complete work in your walk.
