The Twilight Zone

1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: (7) Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. (KJV)

The closer you get to the Lord, the closer you get to the source of light that enlightens you and brings the only true peace that you can rely on. When one starts withdrawing, stepping away from the Lord, they enter back into a realm of darkness, one that is obscure and not peaceable. Years ago there was a television program called the Twilight Zone, where strange and unexplainable events would happen to people because of this realm they entered. Well today, many that have been enlightened to the truth of our Lord re-enter that spiritual twilight zone where they are now closer to darkness than they are to the light. Many of God’s people begin their walk in the Spirit and then think that they can perfect it by the flesh, their way of thinking and a path that they think will bring peace. And if one does a study on the word ‘many’ and where many are heading, they will see that many are headed the wrong way, and only a few will find, let alone walk, the path that leads to eternal life.

Proverbs 4:18-19 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. (19) The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble. (KJV)

Remember the way our Lord said His people should live, those that are justified by Him? Does the term ‘the just shall live by faith’ ring a bell? It is our carnal minds that are the enemy; because our limited thinking will mislead us back to the fallen realm we were once delivered from if we do not keep it renewed in the Word of God. So if the light of the glorious gospel of Christ is no longer shining in then the Son is setting, and we have entered the realm of twilight, something that takes place just before nightfall and darkness sets in.

Romans 14:22-23 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. (23) And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. (KJV)

Are the steps that you take today being dictated by our Lord, or are you still more influenced by the things that are taking place in the outward realm? Do you know for sure, faithfully, that you are serving the Lord, or are there things that you are trying to keep covered up and not exposed? Once doubt has set in, then that river of living waters that was supposed to be flowing through you becomes damned up and restricted. So a river that was supposed to be bringing forth life and watering the seed within you which is Christ, is now trickling and drying up because you decided to do the caring for the Lord and handle things the way you thought they should be handled. The opposite of faith is sin; faith is our ability to believe in the Word of God; sin is unbelief, basically telling our Lord He is a liar and that you know better.

Matthew 6:30-34 Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? (31) Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (32) (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. (33) But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (34) Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. (KJV)

Thayer’s definition for ‘take no thought’:

3309  merimnao-

1) to be anxious, to be troubled with cares

2) to care for, to look out for (a thing)

a) to seek to promote one's interests

b) caring or providing for

One of the quickest ways to enter the twilight zone is when you start thinking beyond today and start seeking the things the world is chasing after. Keep in mind with the TV program the Twilight Zone that the ending was not a happy one, but rather it left one more in confusion than with answers. You need to realize and take faith in the fact that the Lord’s realm is so much higher, His wisdom is so much more above and beyond all that we could ever ask or think; it is now a matter of, if we will believe and then patiently wait to receive.

James 1:3-8 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. (4) But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. (5) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (6) But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. (7) For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. (8) A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. (KJV)

Want to stay out of that twilight zone, that one of fear and doubt? Of course the enemy will challenge and try to bring doubt back into your life, but it is up to you to patiently wait on the Lord and let His answer manifest so that there will be no lack. So put away your remote and quit switching channels back and forth, between this fallen realm and that of the heavenly one if you desire to move forward in your walk and not be stuck watching re-runs of programs that are outdated and should stay that way as you mature. Time to reprogram; instead of the twilight zone, how about the discovery channel, the one where you truly discover who you are in Christ and all the Spiritual blessings that He has provided for you to walk in.
