The Fountain Of Youth
Ephesians 4:17-20 This I say therefore,
and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles
walk, in the vanity of their mind, (18) Having the understanding darkened,
being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them,
because of the blindness of their heart: (19) Who being past feeling have
given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with
greediness. (20) But ye have not so learned Christ; (KJV)
In this country that we live in today,
billions and billions of dollars are being spent on people that don’t want
to look old, but rather cover themselves with cosmetics to look young
again. In the realm of the Spirit, we too can operate in a newness of life,
by keeping our old man and old way of thinking subdued, dead, died, and
buried. While many people use cover up methods to give the appearance of
Christianity it’s because they have never learned who Christ within them is
and how to operate effectively in His realm.
Ephesians 4:21-24 If so be that ye have
heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: (22) That
ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt
according to the deceitful lusts; (23) And be renewed in the spirit of your
mind; (24) And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in
righteousness and true holiness. (KJV)
While many people today still know Jesus
of Nazareth, more so after their outward vision, a few have tapped into the
fountain of youth; a river of living waters that flowed through this man
should be flowing through you as well so that you can allow a new man to be
resurrected in your own life. Your old carnal thinking is what kept you in
bondage to an old fallen realm, where the only way of escape is through
Christ in you, our only hope for glory and eternal life. The only way you
will be able to put off and discard this old way of thinking as well as the
same old results, is by a renewing of your mind so that a new man can now
walk a new path that is being dictated by the Spirit which is willing, and
not by the flesh which is weak and feeble. Is your life new today; are you
able to see a new way of living because you are no longer in bondage to the
old way, or have things become stale in your walk and it seems more like a
not so merry-go-round? If you are willing and obedient, willing to walk in
the Spirit, then you can expect new results, above and beyond what you
could have ever thought or asked for. However, if you stay in the old, then
don’t expect anything to change, except for the fact that it will just keep
getting older fast.
Romans 6:4-6 Therefore we are buried with
him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead
by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
(5) For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we
shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: (6) Knowing this, that
our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed,
that henceforth we should not serve sin. (KJV)
Oh, that baptism Paul makes reference to,
being baptized in the Holy Spirit is so much more than just pouring water
on someone, and putting on some outward carnal show. The true baptism that we
are talking about is a way of life, a new life which is designed to keep
our old man dead and buried. Just because you made a commitment to our Lord
and have walked with Him doesn’t mean your old man and its desires won’t
try to come back to life and pull you back down to the grave again. So you
can see how vital it is not only to make a commitment to our Lord, but now
the most important part is walking in the new life and the path that He has
provided for you to walk in if you truly desire to make it to your eternal
destination.
Romans 6:7-11 For he that is dead is
freed from sin. (8) Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall
also live with him: (9) Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead
dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. (10) For in that he
died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. (11)
Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive
unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. (KJV)
Every day that you spend renewing your
mind and keeping your body in subjection to the Spirit gives you the power
and ability to walk in this newness of life, no longer being influenced by
the old man that would like to resurrect as well. You have a choice and the
ability to decide who is going to resurrect today, the old or the new. If
you choose to be dead and keep your old thoughts and desires dead then
Christ can resurrect, and you will believe more in the unseen realm rather
than the carnal one. However, if you allow the old man the opportunity to
come alive again, then you get the whole package; fear, doubt, and frustration,
basically you put an ‘L’ on your forehead for loser.
Colossians 3:9-11 Lie not one to another,
seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; (10) And have put
on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that
created him: (11) Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor
uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and
in all. (KJV)
So who is it going to be today, and who
are you really serving today; the old man or the new man in Christ? You
have access to the real fountain of youth, a river of living waters that
provide new life to a new man. Now go be that man.
