Regaining Control

1 Timothy 6:5 Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself. (KJV)

Strong’s definition for ‘gain’:

4200  porismos (por-is-mos'); from a derivative of poros (a way, i.e. means); furnishing (procuring), i.e. (by implication) money-getting (acquisition):

KJV-- gain.

You know, our Lord Himself said that He would supply all our need according to His riches in glory, and yet with this in mind how many still chase or think the riches of this life will bring peace? Sound farfetched, maybe too simple; well, one needs to look no further than the so called Christian channels to get pummeled with endless money pitches and pyramid schemes, which is what these prosperity messages really are. Anything that points you somewhere other than the Lord as your source is a cheap imitation for what our Lord intended for you, and would fall under the category of a thief and a liar.

2 Peter 2:18-22 For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. (19) While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. (20) For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. (21) For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. (22) But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. (KJV)

Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, and tells everything that is going on inside of many. While many promise liberty, which by the way the only true liberty is in Christ, they are actually themselves the servants of corruption having sold out to the world and its fallen ways. How would you know this? Well, when they claim or suppose gain, that being the gain or acquiring the things of this realm, is godliness, that would be the time to be looking for the exit, not your wallet to support these cheap hucksters in their fallen ways. But alas, you wonder why these frauds continue and flourish? Well, it’s because of a bunch of simple minded, lazy, immature people who rather than take the time on their own in the Word to get grounded, they settle for someone else to do the work for them. Guess what, the enemy has provided ‘many’ to bring a doctrine that is not according to godliness, but something more in line with a pig pen; or if you really want an accurate description, like watching a dog return back to his own vomit.  Yuck, not only to the carnal senses but the Spiritual senses as well.

Proverbs 5:21-23 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings. (22) His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins. (23) He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray. (KJV)

Our Lord came that you would have life, a Spiritual abundant life, free from the strifes and contentions of this fallen world. But how it pains our Lord to see many of His people set free for a season, only to take on friendly fire again in the form of religion and doctrines of man, and fall right back into the snare of the devil.

Isaiah 56:10-12 His watchmen are blind: they are all ignorant, they are all dumb dogs, they cannot bark; sleeping, lying down, loving to slumber. (11) Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter. (12) Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant. (KJV)

You know, a lot of man’s false doctrines are like a strong wine, very intoxicating and very deceptive to those that have fallen for them. These doctrines dull the senses, and present a false picture and reality of salvation, placing one in a drunken stupor thinking someday it will get better. Well, for those that have come out from among this nonsense see that this is the day the Lord has made; today is the day I will rejoice in, knowing that the Lord has blessed me with all spiritual blessings in Christ.

Ephesians 1:3-5 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: (4) According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: (5) Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, (KJV)

You know, while you were running to and fro seeking peace and contentment, while the world and its worldly preachers were getting you to fall for a cheap hoax and imitation of truth, the Lord had His answer right there for the taking, right in front of you all along. The true blessings that are available, the only true blessings that have any real substance at all, are in a heavenly place where you should be seated in and seeing first hand for yourself as well. Instead of following some fat cat preacher who promises liberty but only delivers a corrupt doctrine based more on their own desires and not on the Lord’s, start seeking who you are in Christ and find out all that He has blessed and desires to bless you with Spiritually.

Proverbs 28:20-22 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. (21) To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress. (22) He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him. (KJV)

No man can serve two masters; if you desire to be rich in the kingdom of God then you will need to forsake the riches of this life. Many have sold out, literally for a piece of bread or anything else that will satisfy their big bellies; only those that seek the true riches from above will find true peace and contentment. Who is really in control of your vessel today; are you truly on the path of life that our Lord ordained for you to walk in, or is someone else calling the shots and your vessel is lost at sea? Regaining control can only come in Christ, because without Him we can do nothing.
