Perverting The Truth
1 Timothy 6:5-7 Perverse disputings of
men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is
godliness: from such withdraw thyself. (6) But godliness with contentment
is great gain. (7) For we brought nothing into this world, and it is
certain we can carry nothing out. (KJV)
You know, if some sick pervert were
knocking at your door seeking access into your house you would do all you could
to keep him on the outside and away from your family. Yet with this in
mind, how many times have we allowed a sick twisted perversion of the
gospel of Christ into our spiritual house, and in fact embraced it with
open arms at times. Sound a bit too farfetched and silly? Well that is
exactly what happens when we give credence to these people, many times
because they have a big following. Anything other than sound doctrine,
anything other than the doctrine of Christ which is meant to build up the
spiritual man and not the carnal one, is a perversion of the truth;
something that you should be withdrawing from rather than embracing. Have
you ever seen these sick perverts being dragged into court and the lawyers
they have representing them? How many times have you looked at the lawyers
and thought, how could someone stand there and try to represent this
perversion? Well slick, that is what many do when they give credence to a
lie; rather than take a stand for truth they give credence to a bunch of
spiritual perverts.
Isaiah 30:9-11 That this is a rebellious
people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD: (10)
Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us
right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits: (11) Get you
out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to
cease from before us. (KJV)
When you truly do decide to take a stand
for the Lord and hold fast to His doctrine you will find yourself on a path
that is not crowded, one that is not heavily used. Remember what happened
when it came time for the crucifixion of our Lord? Yeah, many made a run
for it. Today when sound doctrine is preached many still make a run for it
and avoid what is needed in order for them to obtain their eternal
inheritance also. Many would rather have a sugar coated perversion told to
them rather than the truth that would set them free; so rather than being a
servant of our Lord they are still the servants of corruption.
2 Peter 3:14-18 Wherefore, beloved,
seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of
him in peace, without spot, and blameless. (15) And account that the
longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul
also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; (16) As
also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are
some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and
unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own
destruction. (17) Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things
before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked,
fall from your own stedfastness. (18) But grow in grace, and in the
knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now
and for ever. Amen. (KJV)
Strong’s definition for ‘wrest’:
4761
strebloo (streb-lo'-o); from a derivative of 4762; to wrench, i.e.
(specifically) to torture (by the rack), but only figuratively, to pervert:
KJV-- wrest.
What we see is, many that, instead of
learning how to overcome their lower natures and walk in the victory God
intended for them to walk in, they twist and pervert the scriptures so that
they make it fit into their fallen lifestyles. Homosexuality is an example
of how far off the spiritual radar many have fallen, because rather than
teach the people and encourage them on how to overcome this abomination,
they are now trying to embrace this doctrine and accept this as an
alternative lifestyle, which it is, an alternative which will result in
hell and not heaven.
Jeremiah 5:26-31 For among my people are
found wicked men: they lay wait, as he that setteth snares; they set a
trap, they catch men. (27) As a cage is full of birds, so are their houses
full of deceit: therefore they are become great, and waxen rich. (28) They
are waxen fat, they shine: yea, they overpass the deeds of the wicked: they
judge not the cause, the cause of the fatherless, yet they prosper; and the
right of the needy do they not judge. (29) Shall I not visit for these
things? saith the LORD: shall not my soul be avenged on such a nation as
this? (30) A wonderful and horrible thing is committed in the land; (31) The
prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my
people love to have it so: and what will ye do in the end thereof? (KJV)
You know, all this week when we see the
warnings our Lord is giving to His people, we see He is not just talking
about those outside of His kingdom, but warning us about those inside,
those that claim to be speaking on His behalf. Not only are the false
prophets speaking lies, but the Lord’s own people love it and embrace it as
truth and not the perversion that it really is. Where do you stand today;
are you really standing for the truth, or has a little leaven gotten into
your bread of life and is causing you a spiritual illness? It is up to you
to exercise your spiritual senses, and know the difference between what is
of the flesh and what is of God, so that you can continue on the path of
life and make it to your eternal destination in Christ.
2 Timothy 4:3-4 For the time will come
when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall
they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; (4) And they shall
turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. (KJV)
Folks, this time Paul is writing about
and attempting to warn God’s people about what is upon us now, waxing worse
and worse. All of these, ear tickling, feel good, money grubbing doctrines
having the people supposing gain is godliness is nothing more than a cheap
hoax perpetrated by a bunch of cheap spiritual perverts who should be cast
out rather than embraced and supported by the so called church. Get real Church,
and rightly divide the word of truth so that you don’t end up calling evil good
and good evil.
