A Secret Revealed

Matthew 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. (KJV)

When looking at the scriptures one needs to keep in mind that God is a Spirit, so those that desire to worship Him, which means in lifestyle or walk not just some silly little song and dance routine many do on Sunday mornings when the band strikes up, must do so in Spirit and in truth. So in essence, a Spiritual God is revealing a Spiritual secret to His people so that they can know and not have to guess what His will is for them personally, and how to do those things that are pleasing in His sight.

Amos 3:7-8 Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. (8) The lion hath roared, who will not fear? the Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy? (KJV)

The Lord is speaking and has been to His people, revealing Himself to those who are truly His servants not just in word but in their walk as well. The question is asked in verse 8 about what the Lord has spoken, and only those that know His secret can truly speak and prophesy in truth. Unless you know for yourself the secret of the Lord and how to speak words that are Spirit and will bring forth life, then you will be speaking according to your own interpretation, words that are considered idle, vain and useless.

Luke 8:16-18 No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light. (17) For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad. (18) Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have. (KJV)

The things of God are no longer hidden, but are now in plain sight, ready to be revealed to those that will enter into the realm of the Spirit seeking the wisdom from above. Now it is a matter of hearing on a daily basis how to walk in the Spirit, and no longer being so influenced by the realm of the flesh. God lit a Spiritual candle, a Spiritual light to enlighten us to the things of His realm by the revelation of Jesus Christ so that we no longer have to walk in darkness, but are now able to walk in the light of the glorious gospel of Christ.

Ephesians 3:1-4 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles, (2) If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: (3) How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, (4) Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) (KJV)

Thayer’s definition for ‘revelation’:

601  apokalupto-

1) to uncover, to lay open what has been veiled or covered up,

to disclose, to make bare

2) to make known, to make manifest, to disclose what before was unknown

This revelation, making what was previously unknown, a secret, or a mystery, is now uncovered and made known to God’s people in Christ. If you notice all this week when dealing with the topic of secret, mystery, hid, hidden, all these things that were unknown are now made known by our personal knowledge of Christ. So basically what it comes down to is, if you don’t know Christ and His name for yourself then you won’t know the secret that God is revealing to His people. Keep in mind the fact that only His people will be allowed access to His kingdom, so it would be in your best interest to seek this out for yourself personally.

Ephesians 3:5-9 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; (6) That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: (7) Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. (8) Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; (9) And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ: (KJV)

Paul’s own purpose and calling was to make all see what is available by the revelation of this mystery, and only by this knowledge can one be a fellow heir and a partaker with Christ. As we see again, this secret, this mystery, was revealed personally to God’s holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit so that we could have and keep in fellowship with our Father through His Son.

1 Corinthians 2:9-11 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. (10) But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. (11) For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. (KJV)

You cannot and never will be able to know the things of God and His plan of salvation personally unless it comes from God through Christ, and you are able to see and hear it for yourself. You can listen to tapes and sermons night and day, you can study the Bible cover to cover, but unless you know the hidden meaning of the scriptures and the Spiritual meaning of the Word you will never come to a working knowledge of who you are in Christ, and how to operate effectively in His Word.

1 Corinthians 2:12-14 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. (13) Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. (14) But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. (KJV)

The things of God, the things described as a candle being lit for all to see are there for the taking for those that take the time and make it a priority to hear and let His Spirit teach them, so that they don’t have to fall for man’s cheap hoaxes and carnal misinterpretations of His Word. So where do you stand today, do you know for yourself the secret God has revealed through His Son? Although many people use the term “revelations”, there is only one revelation that the Holy Ghost is teaching, and that revelation is Christ.
